How to train your dragon 3D
trailer, Wednesday 17 February

DreamWorks Animation has announced that they will now release “How to Train Your Dragon” on March 26, 2010 instead of the previously announced release date of November 20, 2009. Its new release date comes with less competition as November’s date would have put the movie up against Jim Carrey’s A Christmas Carol and James Cameron’s AVATAR, both of which are also presented in 3D. “The combination of a jam-up domestically and the very limited 3-D capacity internationally just didn’t make sense,” CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “There will not be anywhere near the number of screens needed…” Katzenberg said he expects the number of 3D capable screens to increase from 1,000 to 5,000 by the time the movie hits theaters.
Clash of the Titans 3D
trailer, Wednesday 17 February

Warner Bros has decided to convert their original shooting for Clash of the Titans to 3D. Co-produced by Legendary Pictures, “Titans” is a re-imagining of a 1981 film that starred Laurence Olivier in the character of Zeus. The role is played by Liam Neeson in the remake, appearing opposing Sam Worthington’s Perseus in the mythology-based actioner. In the aftermath of the huge success of 3D feature 'Avatar' Warner Bros. is making a statement with this conversion from their 2D material to 3D. Warner would need to find an ample number of extra-dimensional venues for the same weekend that Paramount unspools DreamWorks Animation’s big animated feature “How to Train Your Dragon,” which also is slotted for the March 26 frame.
