Post Panic Rocks for MTV
MTV Rocks! - Deployment Ident, Wednesday 10 March

As from March 2010, MTV is re-branding its 6 specialist music channels – MTV Rocks (formely MTV2), MTV Classic (formely VH1 Classic), MTV Dance, MTV Base, MTV Hits and MTV Shows. Launching first in the UK with international roll-out to follow, this project is a continuation of the July 2009 MTV’s first international rebrand. In total 32 TV idents have been commissioned to span all these 6 MTV ‘sister channels’ with the MTV World Design Studio drawing together the cream of international motion and audio-design talent.
Fantoche call for projects

Swiss animation festival Fantoche launched their 2010 call for projects. Fantoche will be holding its International Competition for the eighth time and is searching for the best animated short films worldwide from the last 12 months. Artistically daring ideas, visionary experiments, stories with a twist or the best top-quality entertainment are being sought, whether produced by newcomers, young talents or established film makers. This allows Fantoche to once again feel the pulse of the latest trends coming from the world of animated film. These will be judged by the international jury and the audience during the festival from 7-12 September 2010.

Golden Globes 2010
Avatar & Up, Monday 18 January

Yesterday night the Golden Globes have been announced, and James Cameron's Avatar won the Best Motion Picture and Best Director! More good news for digital film and animation, becaused beloved Pixar's Up won the Globe for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Score. The Globes are good indication for the even more prestigious Academy Awards (Oscars), ceremony at 7th of March. Nominations at February 2nd. http://www.goldenglobes.org/http://www.oscars.org/

The Animex International Festival of Animation and Computer Games takes place every year at Teesside University, Middlesbrough in the North East of England.
