‘Bif’ are a directing collective made up of The Mill’s Jules Janaud, Fabrice le Nezet and Francois Roisin. In 2009 alone, the multi-award winning trio was featured in Shoot magazine’s Shoot Young Directors Showcase and was awarded the Jury Award at SIGGRAPH 2009.
Bif joined The Mill in 2005 and made their directorial debut in commercials with Vodafone ‘Cityscape’. They recently worked in The Mill’s New York office where they directed the animation and content for the Ford ‘Popup’ ad for the US market.
In 2008, the trio created and directed ‘Dix’, a darkly comic short film showing the complexities of psychological and obsessive behaviour. The film has gone on to win a string of awards, including the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, Creative Review ‘The Annual’, The Cocotte Minute Award at the European Short Film Festival and most recently, the Jury Award at SIGGRAPH Animation Festival.
Bif have also made the acclaimed animated short film, ‘Raymond’ which scooped the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France and was selected in more than 70 international festivals (Clermont, Brooklyn, Annecy, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico...). 'Raymond' is the story of a lowly swimming instructor from Douche Les Mines and his quest - with the help of some fantasy science to achieve his dream – to swim with the whales.
The trio met whilst studying at world renowned French animation school Supinfocom.
