Pleix

Pleix is a French community of seven digital artists (graphic designers, 3D artists, musicians...) willing to mix their skills to create projects together. Pleix is based in Paris, France and they believe that image, sound and editing are all equally important. They sign their projects with ´Pleix´ and never mention individual names. Inspiration for Pleix is found everywhere, since it's a collective of seven artists. All different kind of fields are used to share their work with an audience; film and internet of course, but also exhibitions, festivals, tv, and Playgrounds 2009!

Pleix is well known for their video 'BIRDS', with music from French DJ Vitalic. Main characters in this video are flying dogs. Pleix wanted to make a project about naivity, freedom and happiness, and therefore made dogs fly over laser lines in extreme slowmotion. Pleix created, amongst many other video's, 'Cish Cash' for Basement Jaxx and 'Get Down' for Groove Armada, a video featuring a lot of white rabbits.

In 2007 Pleix made a video installation for La Nuit Blanche, 'Astral Body church', with the focus on the human body: huge photo's of bodybuilders were projected on a screens which were set up in windows of church St Eustache in Paris. www.pleix.net
