Pixar's objective is to develop computer-animated feature films with memorable characters and heartwarming stories that appeal to audiences of all ages. With partner Walt Disney Pictures Pixar created and produced many films such as 'Toy Story', 'A Bug's Life', 'Toy Story 2', 'Monsters, Inc.', 'Finding Nemo', 'The Incredibles' and 'Cars'. Recently released are 'WALL-E', 'Ratatouille', 'Bolt', 'Tinker Bell' and 'Up'. The latter featured as opening film for the prestigious Cannes Filmfestival 2009, the first animated film ever to have that honor.

For more than fifteen years Pixar also created many short films using three-dimensional computer animation. They started in 1986 with 'Luxo Jr.' and many followed, like 'Geri's Game' and 'For the Birds'. For both Pixar won an Academy Award.

Currently Pixar is working on a lot of new animated feature films, such as 'Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3-D', and in 2010 'Toy Story 3', 'Rapunzel', 'Tinker Bell North of Neverland' and 'Cars 2'.

Mark Walsh, Supervising Animator of 'Ratatouille' and Directing Animator of 'Finding Nemo' will present Pixar during an artist talk at Playgrounds. Before that Walsh will host a three-day workshop at NIAF about the process of making an animated short, both within a studio and on one's own.
