Steven de Peven was born on Christmas Eve 1974 in the Belgian town Leuven. There, surrounded by a musical family and inspired by his uncles drive-in show and 80 years graffiti, he grew up an all-round entertainer. Now he is part of the renowned Pips: lab collective and runs his own record label called Zephons Mom. Along with the famous Dutch producer Aardvarck Steven started the producer/DJ collective RedNoseDistrikt. Besides all this, he is a collector of pointing sticks (aanwijsstokjes). For he says: "Pointing with your index finger is passé anyway”. If Steven will point out things at Playgrounds is unknown, that he will play some records is a fact.
